The Prince's Trust and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service kindly donated two weeks of hard work and dedication to giving new life to Trinity Community Centre's rear garden Project. After extensive building work was carried out our community garden was ruined then ten budding enthusiast's all gave their precious time to creating our fabulous community garden, lots of idea's were flowing and money was raised to help fund the project, Clearing the site was the first task, then rotavating the ground,
de-weeding and turning over the flower beds came next, these young adults give blood sweat and tears on day two, and much of the hard work has been done.

Day Three June 13th 2013
More hard work has taken place today base for seating has been laid, side wall has been painted bird table has been erected and herb garden bed has been laid ready for the planting. More of the area has ben cleared and the princes trust are still going strong.

Still enthusiastic and very keen to get this garden rocking, the moral of these youngsters is fantastic they work like trojan's.

WEEK TWO June 22nd 2013
All hands to the pumps, these guys and gals have worked very hard in the previous week and there is still a lot to do, the ground is prepared and the turf has just arrived, everyone helps unload the two pallets of turf weighing just over two tons. the soil is soaked and alfie and Terrence start to lay the turf, 90 minuetes later the lawn is down i repeat the lawn is down. What a transformation! and what speedy turf layers. Great job Guys. The second week is coming to an end and the project is nearly complete, planting the flowers and finishing the painting keeps the girls Shannan, Natalie, Caitlin and Katherine busy. The Day of Judgement Arrives The final hand over, Tired, weepy and relieved its over. The job is done. all their hard work has paid off, a new lease of life to a once builders back yard to a beutiful and useful garden area where all can sit play and enjoy. all thanks to team 45 at the Princes Trust Colne.
